The breakfast at Hampton Inn is great, but turns out not enough so to get us out of bed. We only stirred around 8:45 to start packing up. Wr got our Lyft to the ship with a guy that spoke zero English. Also seemed to not know the area well since we made a lap around the airport as he muttered what I think were Spanish swears. He wasn’t sure where to drop us off but the map was pretty clear it was the middle of Black Falcon Way. A luggage guy came up and took our bags right out of the trunk. Awesome. Handicap assist was in sight as well as an unexpected Canada customs form. Not sure why we filled that out this early, but whatever. Got on board and to mom’s master’s (Key) lunch. Filet mignon and cheesecake was kinda blah, but mushroom soup was good.
Normally we get free internet for two with Masters level, but it showed a charge if we enabled internet – you have to go to login.com while on ship Wi-Fi airplane mode. I accidentally bought it for like 165$. So we had to go to guest services only to find out only the head Voom guy can fix this, so we went there and waited for Mr. High Demand. He understood what happened immediately. The casino didn’t put us on a list. Later we learned the onboard casino didn’t get our name from land casino people, so that all sucked, but they gave mom $100 of casino credit to say sorry and we got our internet package.
We went to trivia and our room as normal. The ship was decked out in nice Halloween decor. The comedian was Stephen Thomas who was pretty good, but a bit heavy on poop jokes. The cruise director is South African Kay who seems kinda dull but ok.
